Ljudspår by night last week was quite different from the day trips of August 2008. Towards the end of the tram concert it was getting dark outside which gave the concert a nice and cozy atmosphere. Here is the link to a youtube video taken from the end of the coffee car: Ljudspår by night.

Three days of tram concerts are over!

Now all 12 round trip concerts on the Djurgården tram line have been made, and I'm amazed at how much positive response we've received from people of all ages and nationalities. We have almost only received smiles and curiousity from the audiences after the concerts. A big THANK YOU to everyone who came to listen!

We have completed the first day's tram concerts, the first trip leaving Norrmalmstorg as scheduled, at 2 PM. Thanks to the people who came to listen! Here are a couple of pictures taken between concerts when the tram was empty.

A small (crappy cellphone) picture from today's rehearsal - the first time we tried out the sound in the actual tram. Tomorrow (Wed. 27th) the journey begins!

Anders from Radio Stockholm called, asked for interview. "Whaaat is Ljudspår?" he asks over the phone. Let´s see if he finds out tomorrow. He will meet us at 12.30 tomorrow, broadcasted live.

Unforseen event

Last minute unforseen event, part of the the tram network , our "concerthall", was down this week-end, due to an accident where a lorry had ripped down some vital cables. Parts have been ordered, and repair is planned for tonight.... Let´s hope they get it all up and running very soon!!

There's loops all over the place! Every little sound in a tram seems to have a groove or breakbeat potential... And i had plans for something ambient. We can't have people dancing in the tram, can we? Or maybe we can, precious? Maybe we can... :-)

Olympic Games and Trolleys

I've been watching the Olympic Games while working on music for our trio, M.A.M. The music will be performed on board the Norrmalmstorg - Djurgården tram line i Stockholm.

No gold medals for Sweden so far... I'm confident about the music, though. There are som great clicking and squeaking sounds to be explored in the world of tram sounds.

First ride

Headphones on, pouring rain. Seasons are definitely changing. Working on preparing a piece for the project, "First ride" I have entitled it... A bit silly, but naming it like this, I get the feel of a beginning, and a beginning it sure is for the project Ljudspår, quite opposite to the leaves starting to turn yellow outside my window, the ending of summer.

Three artists, Mattias Sköld, Anna Einarsson, Mattias Petersson, wants to point the auditors attention to the soundscape that surrounds us in our everyday lives, be it sounds of nature or citysounds. To offer another way of experiencing electronic music, and also, to bring forward the beautiful trams themselves as means of transport in the modern city.

The work has now started!
